Safe Environment Training
"The Diocese of Boise is determined to provide a safe environment for the children and young people involved in its ministries, implementing policies and procedures to assist in preventing sexual abuse, and to assist Diocesan personnel in recognizing, reporting, and attending to the needs of abused children and their families." –From the Roman Catholic Diocese of Boise Sexual Misconduct Policies.
The Diocese of Boise requires that anyone working with youth under the age of 18 take a Safe Environment Training. This training deals with all forms of abuse, most specifically child sexual abuse. Holy Apostles Catholic Church and St. Ignatius Catholic School require all school volunteers, musicians, usher/greeters, parish visitors, St. Vincent de Paul home visitors, vacation bible school volunteers, and those volunteering in the religious education programs take this class.
New Volunteers/Employees: Face-to-face Safe Environment Workshop is mandatory prior to working with any parish youth. Pre-registration is required to attend a training session. Click here to create an account, review required documents, and RSVP.
Active Volunteers/Employees: Online training is required annually for all that have taken a face-to-face Safe Environment Workshop. Click here for the online training link.
