Ushers

The mission of the Ushers ministry is Christian hospitality — and true hospitality draws us together!

Ushers are the first people that parishioners and visitors meet when they come to Mass. As Jesus said in Luke 15:7, "...there is more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents..." and an usher's call is to communicate the heavenly joy to everyone who walks through the doors at Holy Apostles seeking Christ in the Mass.

As ministers of hospitality, ushers welcome people as they arrive, hand out bulletins, assist in seating, answer questions, take up the offering, guide people to Communion and prepare the church for the next Mass. They also select a couple or family to present the gifts during Mass. Ushers do all this and more out of obedience to our Lord and Savior who, in John 13:34 said, "I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another."

To become a part of the usher ministry you will need to contact the Head Usher for in-person training and an usher badge. You will also need an active email address and phone number because ushers must be registered with the MSP software so they know when to serve.
