Deacon Ralph Flager
Deacon
Deacon Ralph Flager is a 4th generation Montanan who somehow found himself in Idaho since 1975. Born and raised on a ranch in SW Montana, he went to college at the School of Mines in Butte. Graduated in 1962, married a Butte Irish miss, and as a consequence began to take Catholicism seriously. He and wife Lylia became involved with the Cursillo movement and with the charismatic renewal.
In 1980 he entered the diaconate program in the Diocese of Boise and was ordained a deacon in 1983 at St Marks parish. Deacon Ralph served in St. Marks for 3 years, then St. Matthew’s, Holy Spirit, and now Holy Apostles for the past 23 years. He and Lylia are active within the parish and plan to do so as long as possible.
