Deacon Tom Blazek

Deacon

Deacon Tom Blazek grew up in Yorkville NY, a village outside Utica. His education came from Catholic elementary and high schools, and the local Community College — he received a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson College of Technology and worked in the Syracuse area for 15 years at a consulting firm and an electric utility.

He and his wife, Patty, met in Syracuse, married in April 1984, and have two children — they moved to Idaho in 1995. Tom worked at Micron for 26 years and was ordained a deacon for the Diocese of Boise in October 2016. He retired from Micron in March of 2021, and enjoy traveling, “easy” hikes with his wife, fishing and hopes of golf in the future.

Beyond the ongoing responsibilities of a deacon that people normally see, Tom is involved in EMHC training, communion services at assisted living facilities, St. Vincent DePaul, and the Bereavement Ministry.
